Come for a fun and leisurely day out at Bede’s World, where you’ll learn all about Bede and the Anglo-Saxon way of life in Northumbria.

Find out what life would have been like with a visit to our demonstration farm and meet our wonderful animals, including Hilda the wild boar, Mary the goat, George the goose and all of their friends.

See our replica buildings made of wattle and daub, built with truly original materials and methods, using skills that would have been present around 700 AD.

Finish your visit by enjoying a cream tea and some delicious homemade food in The Café at Jarrow Hall. And don’t forget to treat yourself to a souvenir from our gift shop, where our brand new merchandise means you can take a keepsake of our animals home!

Our site is very accessible and easy to get around, with on-site parking for those that drive, as well as local transport links stopping near the museum.

To find out what you can expect from a visit, please click through the menu on the right-hand side and see more about our museum, farm and exhibition programme, as well as further visitor information.

If you’re already a regular visitor (or are planning to be), why not take advantage of our Bede’s World Club? Become an annual member and come back as many times as you wish within the year.
